Suhas Shetty Murder in Mangaluru – Investigation Update .

Suhas Shetty, a Hindu activist and one of the accused in the 2022 Fazil murder case, was killed in a violent gang attack on Thursday evening. The incident took place near Kinnipadavu Cross, on the outskirts of Mangaluru.

At approximately 8:27 PM, Shetty traveled with five others in a car. Suddenly, a group of assailants intercepted them, leading to a violent confrontation. The attackers, traveling in a Swift car and a pickup truck, surrounded Shetty’s vehicle. They attacked Shetty with sharp weapons, severely injuring him.

Shetty’s companions rushed him to A J Hospital in Mangaluru; however, doctors pronounced him dead due to his injuries. In addition, authorities confirmed that CCTV footage from the area captured the attack, providing crucial evidence.

Background of Suhas Shetty and Fazil Murder Case

Suhas Shetty secured bail after facing accusations in the 2022 kill of Mohammed Fazil, a young man from Mangalapete. On July 28, 2022, masked assailants brutally murdered Fazil outside a clothing store in Surathkal. Moreover, Suhas Shetty had a criminal history, as he faced several serious charges, including murder and attempted murder. Additionally, his past involvement in violent crimes has raised further concerns about the motive behind his death. Investigators believe Shetty’s death could be an act of retaliation for the 2022 killed of Fazil.

After Shetty’s death, police registered a case at Bajpe Police Station. Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal confirmed the formation of special teams. These teams aim to track down and arrest the assailants responsible for Shetty’s murder. Hundreds of Hindu activists and BJP leaders visited Shetty’s family at the hospital. They offered condolences and showed support.
