Mother of Late Aditya Prabhu Shares Heartfelt Message on Instagram

In a poignant Instagram post, Mrs. Asha Prabhu, the grieving mother of the late BTech student Aditya Prabhu, opened up about her journey of profound loss, resilience, and her ongoing quest for justice. Aditya Prabhu tragically took his own life on July 17th, leaving his family and the public devastated. In her deeply personal statement, Mrs. Asha Prabhu reflects on her experiences and shares a message of hope and resilience, urging those who may be struggling to seek help and support.
Mrs. Asha Prabhu began her heartfelt message by acknowledging the passage of three months since her son’s tragic passing. She recounted the profound impact of that fateful day when her world was forever changed. She admitted that while the public saw her as a strong mother standing up for her son, the reality behind the scenes was filled with waves of shock, grief, numbness, helplessness, frustration, denial, despair, and a total breakdown.
Transitioning from a person who had never entered a police station or a courtroom to becoming a regular visitor, and from someone who had never spoken before a large audience to giving interviews and standing among large groups of people, Mrs. Asha Prabhu revealed the fear and challenges she faced.
She went on to describe how this tragedy had shattered her small, happy bubble, revealing the cruelty and insensitivity of some individuals. Yet, it also exposed the kindness, compassion, and bravery of others. Mrs. Asha Prabhu emphasized the thousands of students who suffer daily, facing seemingly insurmountable difficulties and battling depression. As a result, she and her family made it their mission to advocate for student-friendly policy changes within the Karnataka Department of Education.
Mrs. Asha Prabhu’s message was one of solidarity and encouragement to those who may be going through similar challenges. She assured them that they are not alone and can find strength in unity. Her advice was to be brave, maintain self-worth, and face adversity boldly.
She acknowledged her own painful journey, with good and bad days, where the pain of losing her son often feels unbearable. Mrs. Asha Prabhu also noted that healing is a slow and arduous process but expressed her commitment to seeking professional help and treatment.
Mrs. Asha Prabhu expressed her gratitude to the numerous individuals who have supported her family, including their lawyer Shridhar Prabhu, counselor Ranjini E Jois, and social activists Dushyant Dubey (St. Broseph) and Amrith Shenoy. She concluded by extending her heartfelt thanks to her extended family and friends who have been a source of love and strength.
This deeply personal Instagram post provides a moving insight into the Prabhu family’s journey and the broader challenges faced by students in the education system. It serves as a testament to the importance of raising awareness about mental health and the need for a compassionate and supportive community.
