3 out 12 TRP Scam cases has chargesheets filed, India News and other Telugu Channels not charged, Mumbai Police ‘suspiciously’ named Republic TV
ED in its chargesheet has mentioned that only 3 FIRs in different states have filed a chargesheet in the case. In one of the cases filed in Madhya Pradesh’s gwalior, Ex Hansa Research employees were accused of paying households Rs 500 to Households where Barometers are Installed, to watch India News Channel. The employees of Hansa Research had allegedly given the details of the Households to India News channel.
Mega Hype to Mumbai Police’s TRP case suspicious
A lawyer at the Madhya Pradesh High Court argued that The Gwalior case is very similar to the Mumbai Case, and said the mega Hype given is only because of the standoff between Republic TV and Mumbai Police.
No news channel, even after being caught in paying for TRPs, has been named as accused. It is only the Hansa Employees who have been chargesheeted.

Mumbai Police were the only agency to name the channel in chargesheet. Since, it wasn’t the advertisers who filed complaints, questions of Section 420, or Criminal Breach of Trust does not play a role. Hansa Research did not face any revenue loss.
