Exclusive data: CNN News18 has majority of viewership in only TWO states

CNN News18 was named the most-watched English News Channel by BARC in its ALL INDIA MARKET. CNN News18 has been at first place on the rating table for the past 2 to 3 weeks. Before CNN News18, Republic TV was at the number one spot for almost 260 weeks. Before CNN News18 climbed to first place, it had an average market share of 15% in the All India/All Day market. The Network18 run channel has seen a sudden rise of another 15% in viewership.
News Tap Global has accessed BARC data, which shows that CNN News18, gets around 80% viewership from only two states and another 10% from one particular region.

According to this Data, CNN News18 gets 80% viewership from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh/Telangana region. CNN News18 gets almost 10% viewership from Assam/North East region.
CNN News18 had a comfortable 15% market share after the ratings returned in March 2022. CNN News18 saw a massive hike in viewership in week 14’s ratings.

This information indicates that Republic TV’s viewership has drastically fallen all of a sudden. A channel which has been dominating the News Market for almost 260 weeks and the core team of Republic TV has been Number one since 15 years or 522 weeks.
Many conspiracies were also hatched to bring down Republic’s numbers, but all of them failed miserably. One of them was TRP Scam, because of which Ratings were stalled for over 17 months. Even after the TRPs were resumed, Republic TV emerged as the number one news channel. Almost after 1.5 years of the case being registered, the masterminds of the case are behind bars.
