ECI Overhauls West Bengal Police Leadership in Massive Pre-Poll Reshuffle

In a massive move to keep the upcoming elections fair and neutral, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has just ordered an immediate change of top police bosses in West Bengal and Kolkata. These changes are effective right now. Here is the list of the new top officers in charge:

  • New Director General of Police (DGP), West Bengal: Siddh Nath Gupta (replaces Peeyush Pandey).
  • New Kolkata Police Commissioner: Ajay Kumar Nand (replaces Supratim Sarkar).
  • New ADG & IGP (Law and Order): Ajay Mukund Ranade (replaces Vineet Goyal).
  • New DG, Correctional Services: Natarajan Ramesh Babu.

This sudden cleanup of the state’s highest police ranks shows the Commission is getting tough on ensuring no political bias during the voting process. With tensions high, these new leaders have been brought in to keep the peace and make sure every citizen can vote safely.
