Lando Norris Wins His First Formula 1 World Championship.
Lando Norris has become the new Formula 1 World Champion after finishing third in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. Even though he didn’t win the race, his third-place finish gave him enough points to beat Max Verstappen in the final championship standings.
Verstappen won the race, but Norris only needed a safe finish to stay ahead in the points table. At the end of the season, Norris had 423 points, just two points more than Verstappen’s 421. It was one of the closest championship battles in recent years.

This is a historic moment for McLaren. The team has not produced a World Champion since 2008, and Norris is now the first British driver to win the title since Lewis Hamilton in 2020.
The season was full of ups and downs. Norris had strong races, tough weekends, and constant pressure from rivals Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri. But when it mattered most, he stayed calm, drove with maturity, and secured the result he needed in the final race.
After the race, Norris said the win felt “unreal” and thanked his team, family, and fans. The McLaren garage celebrated wildly, knowing they had completed one of their best seasons in a long time.
With Norris becoming champion, Formula 1 enters a new chapter. A new face is at the top, and next season now looks more unpredictable — and more exciting — than ever.
