Jammu: The Jammu District Administration issued a late-night directive instructing all staff at key facilitation centers — Yatri Niwas (Bhagwati Nagar), Ram Mandir (Purani Mandi), and Geeta Bhawan (Parade) — to vacate posts and return to regular duties. These centers had handled a large influx of pilgrims throughout the Yatra.

Although weather-related damage was the official reason, the decision aligns with high-level political activity in New Delhi:

President Droupadi Murmu held consecutive meetings with PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

BJP leaders from J&K met with Shah amid rumors of statehood restoration.

The suspension falls exactly on August 5, the anniversary of the 2019 abrogation of Article 370, adding to the speculation.
