In a stunning display of unity and determination, more than 80 thousand people gathered in Mumbai today to protest against the continued custody of Indian child Ariha Shah by the German Child Services. The emotional demonstration, led by the child’s mother, Dhara Shah, and supported by prominent leaders and saints from the Jain community, highlighted the growing demand for Ariha’s immediate return to her homeland after more than two years in German custody.
Ariha Shah’s case has garnered widespread attention due to the prolonged separation from her family and the perceived injustice of her situation. Dhara Shah, a distressed mother fighting tirelessly for her daughter’s return, led the march with a powerful message of hope and determination.
One of the prevailing slogans, “Modiji Save Ariha!” echoed throughout the city, emphasizing the plea to the Indian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to intervene in Ariha’s case and bring her back to her homeland.
To further amplify their message, a ‘rash yatra’ (chariot procession) named ‘Ariha Rath’ was organized as part of the protest. Prominent leaders and respected saints from the Jain community joined this procession to lend their support to the cause. The presence of these influential figures added a spiritual dimension to the movement, emphasizing the significance of compassion and unity.
The protest, which concluded peacefully, sent a strong message to both the Indian and German governments that the people of India are united in their demand for the safe return of Ariha Shah. The movement shows no signs of slowing down, with supporters vowing to continue their efforts until Ariha is reunited with her family.
