Prime Minister Modi Slams Critics, Declares: “No Discrimination, Only Democracy and Equal Rights!”

In a joint media conference held after bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to democracy and addressed concerns regarding the rights of religious minorities in the country. PM Modi emphasized that democracy runs deep within India’s veins and asserted that human rights and democratic values are inherent to the nation’s DNA.

During the press interaction, a reporter questioned the Indian Prime Minister about the steps his government would take to improve the rights of religious minorities in India. PM Modi expressed surprise at the question and promptly defended India’s democratic system, stating that democracy is not only an integral part of the country’s spirit but also enshrined in its constitution.

He passionately proclaimed, “If there are no human values and human rights, there is no democracy… When we live democracy, there is no question of discrimination.” PM Modi vehemently asserted that discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, or religion has no place in India’s democratic fabric.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister assured the audience that his government was committed to delivering development and progress to all citizens without any discrimination. Quoting the motto of “Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas” (development for all and trust from all), PM Modi emphasized that his administration’s focus is on inclusive growth and equal access to amenities for every individual, regardless of their religion, caste, age, or geographical location.

He stated unequivocally, “Everyone has access to amenities,” highlighting that the government’s efforts are aimed at ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of the country, leaving no one behind.

PM Modi’s response reflected India’s strong democratic ethos and its commitment to safeguarding human rights and promoting inclusivity. He emphasized that the principles of democracy and human rights are deeply ingrained in the Indian society and form the bedrock of its governance system.

As India and the United States share a mutual respect for each other’s democratic institutions, the Prime Minister expressed his belief that both nations can collaborate to further strengthen and expand democratic values globally.

With PM Modi’s assertive statements on the significance of democracy and the government’s commitment to ensuring the rights of all citizens, India reiterates its dedication to upholding human rights and promoting equality, reaffirming its position as the world’s largest democracy.
